After spending some time drawing with Seamless Pattern Drawing Tool V2 myself, I realised a few parts of the system could be smoother, more intuitive, and simply more enjoyable to use. So, I set out to refine one of the most fundamental parts of the creative process - colour.
In this update, the colour system has been rethought to make it more responsive, expressive, and easy to control.
Here’s what’s new:
Revised Colour Picker
Integrated the excellent iro.js library: a flexible and beautifully designed colour picker that gives you precise control with smooth interactions and a modern feel. (Thank you to James - the creator of iro.js for this fantastic open-source project!)
Larger Colour Button
The colour picker button is now bigger and easier to access, so you can change colours quickly without breaking your flow.
Add Current Colour to Swatches
You can now save your current colour directly into your swatch palette: making it easier to build and reuse your favourite palettes for your drawing.
Cross-Browser Eyedropper
A new cross-device colour sample mode lets you select colours directly from your canvas, so you can sample and refine hues seamlessly without leaving your artwork.
